John L. Dieterle, Super S Foods
John L. Dieterle has over 50 years of experience in food retailing. He started as a clerk in a retail chain supermarket, was a meat cutter and worked his way up to be a store manager. He is one of the Founders and former Chairman of the Board of a supermarket chain consisting of 50 supermarkets located in South Texas.
Dieterle earned a Bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University in Business Administration and Master's degree from Michigan State University in Business Administration with a concentration in the Curriculum of Mass Marketing Management and food distribution.
In addition, he is the past President of the San Antonio Personnel and Management Association and was a founding member and the first President of the HEB Federal Credit Union. He was a member of the Downtown San Antonio Rotary Club, past President of the Advisory Board of Northeast Independent School District Vocation Office Education and Distributive Education Programs, a member of the Advisory Board of Alamo Heights Vocational Office Education and Distributive Education Programs, and past President of Toastmasters International.
Dieterle was selected to receive the "Entrepreneur of the Year" award from St. Mary's and was named "Retailer of the Year in South Texas" in 2000.
