Mr.Mark Peek joined Amazon.com as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer in 2000. He is responsible for the company's global accounting, public reporting, shared services, financial information systems, real estate and controllership activities; including Amazon's compliance with the internal control provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Mark is an executive officer and serves on the company's senior leadership team.

Peek was a partner at Deloitte & Touche for 10 years prior to joining Amazon.com. He served some of D&T's largest and most significant global clients, most notably the Microsoft Corporation. Mark also served on the Chairman's senior advisory committee. He joined Deloitte in 1980 after graduating from Minnesota State University.

Peek received a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in accounting and Business Administration (international business) and a minor in economics. Mark was a resident advisor in Gage for two years, and his team was the intramural broomball champion in 1979 and 1980. Mark was born in Albert Lea and met Theresa Eggermont, his future wife, while at MSU. He and Theresa live in Seattle with their four children.
