Applicants must submit the following information to the College of Graduate Studies and Research: a completed Application for Graduate Study, verification of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, all college transcripts in duplicate, and information required of international students if appropriate. Upon receipt of the above information, the applicant's file will be forwarded to the MBA Program for an admission recommendation. Admissions are made in the Fall and Spring, and all application materials must be received by the following deadlines:
Fall Semester: June 1st
Spring Semester: October 1st
To be considered for admission into the MBA program, a separate application must be completed and sent to the MBA Admission Committee.

Multiple criteria are used to make decisions for admission into the MBA program in the College of Business. The admissions committee focuses upon the following indicators of successful graduate study:

TOEFL.org is the official website for the test of English as a foreign language, and includes all the pertinent information you should need in both preparing for, and taking the exam.

We do not give preference to any particular undergraduate majors. However, we do require prerequisite foundation courses for those without an undergraduate degree in business. A student must demonstrate competency in the areas of accounting, economics, business statistics, marketing, and finance. The competency can be demonstrated through prior completion of undergraduate equivalent courses or by completing the following foundation courses:
Any undergraduate deficiencies will be specified at the time of application review and must be completed before admission to the MBA program will be granted.
A student may take up to 6 semester credits of 600 level MBA courses without being admitted to the MBA program. Students, however, must be admitted to the Graduate School and must meet all prerequisites before taking any graduate courses in the College of Business.
Certainly, we will admit a small number of outstanding students directly from their undergraduate experience.
On average, we anticipate students to earn their MBA within 3 years of part-time study.
All students, domestic and international must first apply through the College of Graduate Studies and Research. Please note, your application will not be forwarded to the MBA program until you have been accepted by the College of Graduate Studies and Research.

Full graduate assistantships at MSU pay a stipend of $8,000 for the academic year. A full assistantship also carries a waiver of up to nine graduate credits per semester. To be eligible for an assistantship, the student must have a four-year undergraduate degree & be eligible for admission to a Minnesota State University, Mankato Graduate Program. Graduate Assistants must enroll in a minimum of six credits per semester. Graduate Assistants with a summer appointment must enroll for at least one graduate credit.
Minnesota State University, Mankato has a student population of approximately 12,000. The city of Mankato is located 65 miles south of Minneapolis in the Southern Minnesota lake country and the scenic Minnesota River Valley. Mankato's citizens are proud of their community and are active in maintaining and improving their quality of life. The greater Mankato area is the health care, commercial and cultural center of south-central Minnesota. Within a 30 mile radius are five colleges or Universities, several hospitals and clinics, a Minnesota Regional Treatment Center and a population of about 100,000. The culture, shopping and excitement of the Twin Cities is less than two hours away.
With several lakes, parks and rivers, the region offers diverse recreational opportunities. Outdoor sports activities are popular and include cross-country and downhill skiing, canoeing, hiking, camping, fishing, cycling, and boating. Intercollegiate sports are an important feature of the community; Minnesota State University participates in the North Central Conference. There are several theater, musical and other cultural activities available as well. All of these assets contribute to the vitality of Mankato which was recently designated as one of the best U.S. cities of its size.
