College of Business formed in 1948 The College of Business was formed in 1948 when it began offering degrees in Business Administration. Prior to 1948, business related classes such as book keeping and technical writing were offered, but there was not a specific major in business.
Accreditation by AACSB International In 1997, the College of Business became accredited by AACSB International. This prestigious accreditation was gained after many years of diligent work by faculty and administrators to enhance areas of strategic planning, assessment, and faculty qualifications. In February 2008 the College of Business was reviewed for Maintenance of Accreditation by a peer review team of several deans from accredited business schools. Maintenance of accreditation of all programs was affirmed for the regular five year review period. The next review for the College of Business will be during 2012-2013 academic year.
